Bio Piscinas<\/strong> \u2013 Biological Pools and Ecological Water Treatment Systems, Lda., headquartered in Aljezur, designs biological pools\u00ae and operates in the area of \u200b\u200blandscape architecture and ecological studies in the national market since 2001. The managing partners are Claudia Schwarzer, landscape architect, and Udo Schwarzer, biologist.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Working with a product as natural as Biological Pools\u00ae, all the effort of the business activity is based on creating conditions for nature to take hold and, thus, taking advantage of biodiversity as a stabilizing factor capable of guaranteeing the sustainability of the product in the long term.<\/p>\n

A pool with biologically treated water is a product based on biological principles, and is therefore a bio-based solution. Therefore, today we look at the biologically treated pool industry as part of the so-called Bioeconomy.<\/p>\n

In 1995, the managing partners of the company Bio Piscinas, Lda. introduced a new product in Portugal, Biological Pools\u00ae. Two years earlier, they also built the first Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) in Portugal.<\/p>\n<\/div>

For these reasons, they can be considered pioneers in terms of bio-based solutions and environmentally friendly construction, with regard to an increasingly important resource: water. Sustainability and the preservation of natural resources and biodiversity are very important objectives for the company and are applied in all projects.<\/p>\n

The company Bio Piscinas, Lda. designs and promotes nature-based solutions, i.e. biological and ecological solutions, mainly in the context of water treatment, but also in the area of \u200b\u200becological restoration and rewilding, applying scientific know-how and sustainable and non-polluting biotechnologies.<\/p>\n

As a result of the company’s work, there are currently around 270 biological pool projects built in Portugal, including almost 70 for tourist use.<\/p>\n<\/div>
