The first group are the exotic tortoises. Unlike the two species of turtles existing in the Iberian Peninsula, exotic species are interfering a lot in the aquatic ecosystem and thus have to be removed from the biological pool. This is not always easy because all the tortoises are shy and hide easily in the vegetation. The best option to catch them is to dive when they are hiding at the bottom of the bathing area.

In case of catching a tortoise in the biological pool, please take a photo of the animal and email the specialists of Bio Piscinas, Lda. We have to see if it is an exotic species or not. If not, it can stay and make part of the ecosystem. If it is an exotica one, Bio Piscinas, Lda. will indicate the collection sites in the country for exotic tortoises. Never, ever, ever free the animal in nature!

The same goes for the case of crayfish in a biological pool. In this case it is always about exotic species from North America. In this case it is also requested to contact the specialists of Bio Piscinas, Lda.

home / news

[102

post-4486","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news
["GET
