This day aims to raise awareness of the protection and preservation of wetlands and underline the importance they have for the existence of life on our planet.

This year is the first time that it will be celebrated as an international day of the United Nations (UN), following its adoption on August 31, 2021, by the General Assembly.

The theme of this year’s celebrations is “Wetlands Action for People and Nature”. That’s why this day is a special day of celebration! Action of wetlands for people and nature is exactly what the team at Bio Piscinas, Lda. is making possible every day with its work and its projects carried out over many years. This task is supported by colleagues from SHB, Lda., responsible for the execution of the biological pool projects.
However, there are about 250 biological pools in Portugal, in sum, they occupy an estimated 50,000 square meters. With biological pools, wetlands enter the lives of visitors and users, increase biodiversity, provide quality bathing water and provide a beautiful setting every day, thanks to the flora and fauna installed in them. Each one serves as a small sanctuary for the flora and fauna of the wetlands, which are increasingly threatened today, and offers all the pleasure of the water for those who go there to bathe, whether equipped with wings, paws or hands.

home / news

[102

post-6609","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news
["GET
