A round thing

There are numerous abandoned tanks in Portugal. Many are out of use, either due to the existence of new irrigation solutions or the complete abandonment of agricultural activity. However, if the tank is deep enough, it can be transformed into a biological swimming pool.

The external circular shape is maintained. Inside, separation walls are built to delimit the bathing area on two sides, thus creating two areas with plants. After waterproofing with a special membrane, steps are installed to ensure safe access. Finally, the substrates and plants are placed, which should be selected according to the mineral characteristics of the water in each location.

And that’s it: the tank is transformed into a biological swimming pool. Enjoy your swim!
