Iberian meeting

The biennial Iberian Meeting of the Iberian Group of Naturalized Bathing Waters (GIABN) will take place end of September 2026, again in Portugal. The 3-days event includes guided tours, presentations, discussions, and networking. This time it will be held in the Santarém area, at a resort with a biological swimming pool, from September 30th to October 2nd, 2026.

For professionals of this industry, the event has a long tradition. It has brought together technicians linked to natural swimming pools from the Iberian Peninsula for almost 20 years, first in Mallorca in 2007, followed by Girona (Spain), Fundão (Portugal), Aljezur (Portugal), Verges (Spain), Alandroal (Portugal), Campo Maior (Portugal), Salubreña and Ibiza (Spain).

The first day’s program includes a rally from Lisbon to Santarém, visiting several biological swimming pools designed by Biopiscinas, Lda. in Sintra, Ericeira, and Rio Maior, including private and tourist used pools, both recent and many years old. The second day is reserved for presentations on various technical and biological topics, also with interventions from the architects of Bio Piscinas, Lda. The third day is dedicated to the 2026 General Assembly of GIABN association members, followed by an open dialogue session.
