For tourists

Natural swimming pools for tourist use require special attention. On one hand, they need to be very individual, to be part of the differentiation of the tourism product in which they are included; on the other hand, they must present some characteristic elements.

In a tourism development, whether large or small, the natural swimming pool must emphasize the individuality of the place, contributing with its elements and equipment, its shape and configuration, to the demand that guests expect in this location. Thus, in a hidden place in nature, far from everything, possibly located in a Natural Park, the natural swimming pool must invite with its naturalness, soft and organic forms, many plants and biodiversity. In more formal environments, even architectural forms do not seem inappropriate; what matters is the quality of the naturalized water. In any case, areas of aquatic plants are always welcome due to the interesting aspect they present, and the biodiversity that lives in them draws attention in each project.

But in any case, regardless of its design and equipment, the biological swimming pool must be of adequate size for the expected capacity and must, with the chosen biological treatment elements, produce water of bathing quality. Additionally, well-sized entrances are important, at least two, which are sufficient to adequately accommodate the expected number of users during peak season. They should have signage indicating depths, basic user information, and appropriate lifeguard equipment depending on the type of tourism. Furthermore, each case is unique and deserves our utmost attention in designing a natural swimming pool individually tailored to the site, because a natural swimming pool makes all the difference to the tourism product.
